When I need to take a deep breath
“Your to-do list features are great and all….. but sometimes when I sit down at the computer I am so overwhelmed my brain freezes and I don’t know where to start. I have so many things on my mind I want to run in circles. Adding items one by one is too hard when I’m in this state”.

Is this ever you? Are you experiencing this fight or flight regularly? How do you handle it?

Many of us experience this feeling every day. From bad traffic situations to back to back meetings and overwhelming to do lists, it can feel like we live in a constant state of fight or flight. It takes a toll on us physically and emotionally.
As someone building productivity solutions, I care a lot about the problems I am hearing. I experience this one regularly in the drive to build my own company. And I didn’t have an answer to this problem. The only solution we had in Bella was to add your to-do’s one by one. But this doesn’t calm you down when you experience this mind frazzling sensation. It isn’t a relief valve that you need to counter that crazy adrenaline rush we get when we are in this state. My answer to this problem stunk. All I had was an engineering solution to something that was more than an engineering problem.

We needed fresh perspective on our product. So we sought out people that had never used our product. We looked to the students at Prime Digital Academy’s UX program to provide some new insights for us. Here a new idea emerged. It’s called the deep breath feature. Because sometimes we need to take a deep breath.

Deep breathing allows you to calm down that fight or flight response. Deep breathing tells your brain to calm down. It brings you back to the present moment. It stops the overwhelm from all the spinning plates.

We knew Bella was perfect to help you with this job.
Bella floating on to do list

Help me take a deep breath

At the bottom of the to do list on our main screen- Bella is floating there hanging out, ready when you need her.

Bella deep breath
When that overwhelm hits? She’s ready to bring you back into a zen like state. First, she encourages you to take a deep breath, to help you calm down. When you are ready, it’s time to start dumping those to do’s out of your head. As any as you can, and as fast as you can. Enter one, hit the tab for a new line and enter the next one. Feel the calm coming back as you get all those items out of your head and into something where you can objectively look at them.

Keep entering as many as you need to, then create the whole pile at one time.

Go From Deliberate to Done

Ready to get proactive so you can focus on your priorities?

Now that they are all saved, it is time to exhale and feel the calm flow! All the items are on your to do list, so now you can see them and start to prioritize, plan, etc.
